  My wife treated us both to some hour massages. We've both been to the other two main day spas over the years, but neither of them could accommodate us both at late notice, so she figured we could try ME (Massage Envy).
  Upon arrival we were met with politeness and good ambience. If you're a "first timer" you are required to fill out some digital forms on a tablet. You will be asked the traditional stuff like address and occupation plus some brief surveys in regards to what areas of the body you are, or are not comfortable getting worked on, and a anatomical photo of the human body that allows you to select troublesome muscle groups.
  When my scheduled time arrived I was greeted by my MT and taken to the room. There are no locker rooms so you will get undressed in the room while the MT leaves for a few minutes. This did not affect my rating however, as I usually get uncomfortable sitting around in a bathrobe with other people. I found the room to also be clean and relaxing. I asked MT to turn the heat down on the bed and dim the lights which she politely obliged.
  On to the massage. This is the area where I deducted most stars and unfortunately for Massage Envy the worst part you can get wrong. I have regular tightness in my left TFL, IT band, adductors, and soleus due to some left glute inhibition. I also have some tightness in my right right trapezius. Upon telling my MT this I sorta got the deer in the headlights look, and thought, uh oh red flag.
  Time management seemed to be a major problem for my MT. She spent a good portion of the massage with my back, but rushed everything else, completely avoiding - pectorals, glutes, hips, face, and scalp. Never addressed were my adductors (inner thigh), TFL (outer hip), and piriformis (deep glutes). She also seemed overly cautious of making sure I was wrapped up properly. I don't know if it was her discomfort going into these areas or guidelines set by ownership. Either way- If your therapist does not feel comfortable the client will pick up on it, as did I, and it added a slight level of annoyance.
  Cost- Since it was our first time we only paid $50 each for one hour. We had to pay an extra $10 ea for aromatherapy (scented lotion) so it ended up being $120. Normal price for a one hour massage, are you sitting down, is going to be $90 for one hour if you're not in there monthly program. I thought I didn't hear the receptionist correctly. I have been to a lot of professional MT's finding that an average rate is approximately $35/ 1/2 hr and $60/hr. For $90 /hr the practitioners skill level better be through the roof.
  Look, all I ask is that you take pride in your craft, don't expect to grow a clientele with your 10 month massage degree. I, as a client, expect you to continue your studies, read new books, listen to the people on the cutting edge through seminars or podcasts, and know anatomy.

  let me just say Alexis (manager) had the best dang customer service a person can get. She was genuinely nice and actually seemed to care about me and the product i was purchasing. She knew how to answer every question and truly helped. Will be coming back to this location!
