  Matthew Gargano the Dean at the lower academy is very unprofessional and I have only had terrible experiences with him. My daughter was assaulted by another student and she told me, I emailed him, he gave me a call to water down the situation. Later he said the accusations were unfounded, little did he know my daughter had yet to be interviewed the proper way with a detective looking in. Now he knows. So FYI to all the parents sending your child there, there is a child who is in class to this day who assaulted my daughter.... I had to stop sending my child to school because they wouldn't even change the other child's class room. Who would feel safe sending your kid back to school after a sad attempt at victim blaming then keeping them in the same class room? Not me. Don't trust the saff, they seem great at first but I'm warning you they do not alert parents to matters that need to be addressed (her teacher ended up blurting something out that I was not aware of and was found to be a lie) and they also do not like to communicate in writing. Mr. Gargano wants to keep serious matters off record, at least off my record, so when I told him to put everything in email he either never emails back, does a really short one/ two sentence one, but will try to have phone conversations . I told him anything you say over the phone can be written to me, and he still tried to have a phone conversation. Then he is now denying my child of her homework (twice) and saying she either needs to come back to class or be withdrawn. I emailed him about withdrawing, getting tuition back, and school supplies, finally he emailed me back saying they don't charge tuition...i said ok the 65.00$ "activity fee". He also said its not required of them to give her supplies back, but as a curtosy they will try to locate some but it's not a guarantee (her name is on 99%). How about being courteous enough to move the kid out of my daughter's class and keep parents updated? If anything happens to your child here file a police report! I can not stress that enough! Do not let this school or this Dean run you over or water everything down. The entire situation is terribly sad and I am hoping this school will be investigated after me coming forward. They also make your child shake hands with 2-3 staff members before entering school in the morning, I saw one child try to walk past and the staff member stood in front of him with her hand on her hip then grabbed his hand. Sad this school feels the need to intimidate students into shaking hands. Maybe their parents told them not to because of something called spreading germs. It's disgusting. I wondered why at the beginning of every school year they always have openings in every grade. Obviously I am not the only parent who has gone through a bad situation with this school.
